Book Series

The CCBSR is initiating a two-book continuing series.  The titles of the two books are "Chinese Business Strategy" and "The Chinese Business Model."

Each book will contain 16 to 20 articles, by different authors, from universities in China.  The articles for each book will be chosen based on their potential to: (1) add to the scholarly and applied body of knowledge in Chinese business strategy or the Chinese business model; (2) contribute to the development and dissemination of advanced managerial methods in China; (3) contribute to the development and effectiveness of Chinese business strategy or the Chinese business model; and (4) contribute to China's continued economic development.

The articles for the books will be generated by a nationwide call for papers and by the symposium on "Chinese Business Strategy and the Chinese Business Model."

The articles in "Chinese Business Strategy" will cover a wide range of business and management subjects, but every article will discuss the subject as it relates to Chinese business strategy.  The title template will be: " . . .  Chinese business strategy."   For example, "The role of alliances in Chinese business strategy" or "The environmental, pollution and Chinese business strategy."

The articles in "The Chinese Business Model" will also cover a wide range of business and management subjects, and will use a similar focus and format.  The title template will be: " . . .  the Chinese business model."  For example, "The changing role of state-owned enterprises in the Chinese Business Model" or "The impact of foreign direct investment on the Chinese Business Model."

Each book will be published every two years.  The publication of the two books will alternate.

Both books will target:

  1. The faculty and graduate students at universities in China whose research and teaching area is business, management, economics, strategy, marketing, manufacturing and/or international trade.

  2. The libraries at universities in China with a department or school of business, management and/or economics, and especially those with masters (including MBA) and doctoral programs in these disciplines and their sub-disciplines.

  3. Executives and managers at enterprises in China.

The purpose of the two-book series is threefold.

The books will provide a means for scholars in the fields of Chinese business strategy and the Chinese business model to share their research, information, observations and ideas.

The books will contribute to the quality of higher business education in China, and to the dissemination of advanced managerial methods.

As the business environment in China becomes more open, more developed, more complex and more competitive, the material covered in these books will make a contribution to China's continued economic development.
