----The
College of Business and Management at Shaoxing University
is approved by the Academic Degree Commission under
the State Council. The school includes a Department
of Economics and a Department of Management, and
offers bachelor's programs in Business Administration,
International Trade and Accounting. One of these,
the Business Administration program, has been designated
a key specialization by Zhejiang Province.
----The
school was founded in November 2001, on the basis
of the Higher Learning Management Department, which
was established in 1984.
-- -The
school is located in the beautifully landscaped
south campus of Shaoxing University. The facilities
for administration and teaching include traditional
and interactive teaching classrooms, an information
management laboratory, an E-commerce laboratory,
an accounting by EDP laboratory, a craft accounting
laboratory, several multimedia classrooms, learned
report drawing rooms, and reference rooms, which
meet the teaching, research and study needs of teachers
and students.
----The
school attaches great importance to its relationships
with other academic institutions in China and with
foreign colleges and universities. These institutional
relationships contribute to the learning and experience
of teachers and students. In recent years, the school
has entered into cooperative agreements with the
University of Tennessee and the University of Colorado
in the United States, Odense University in Denmark,
Tanverd Professional Institute in Australia, the
Economic Development Research Institute in Taiwan
Province, and the City University of Hong Kong.
----The
College of Business and Management has an increasingly
strong faculty. Its teachers come from more than
30 Chinese and foreign universities. More than 80%
of the teachers hold middle-level or high-level
academic credentials, and more than 70% hold Doctoral
or Masters' degrees, or have successfully completed
a postgraduate accounting program. The university
has designated Enterprise Management and Quantity
Economics key areas of specialization, and the school
has designated Accounting a key area of specialization.
----The
faculty has also included 10 foreign teachers from
the United States, England, Canada, Australia and
Hungary, who have taught business English and specialized
courses. For example, Dr. Warnock Davies (who holds
a PhD from the Fletcher School at Tufts and Harvard
Universities, and has held senior faculty positions
at universities in the United States) has been a
Visiting Professor in the school since 2002, and
has taught strategic management and international
business to the school's teachers and students.
The school also regularly invites Chinese and foreign
experts to give lectures, which are attended by
faculty and students. |
